About Me
Alice Burge was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia to Rev.
David L. Ring and Harriett Jane Shade Ring. As a preacher's kid, she grew up in
the churches where her father pastored in Maryland and West Virginia. Alice was
saved at the age of six. While in West Virginia, she met and married M. Eugene
Burge. She is a graduate of Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, West Virginia,
with a B. A. in Speech and Drama and Library Science. In addition to being the
mother to three children, she is now grandmother to four grandchildren.
She worked in several high school libraries, taught Spanish and was the High
School Administrator in the Christian schools that were part of the churches her
husband pastored. She established the deaf ministry in the church in Virginia as
well as being active in the choir, teaching, counseling, etc.
Since their return to mission work in 1983, she has stayed by her husband's side
to do whatever was needed to help him. She is being used greatly to speak to
women groups as she and her husband travel in missionary conferences around the
world. She helps her husband conduct Missionary Retreats in Europe and the
United States for missionaries and is ''mom'' to many missionary families
worldwide.
Her life verses are Proverbs 3:5-6. ''Trust in the LORD with all thine heart and
lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he
shall direct thy paths.''
